Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is the standard for high-quality silver jewelry.  It contains minimum of 92.5% pure silver mixed with 7.5% of other metals to add strength and durability.

Caring for Sterling Silver

You can avoid tarnish by wearing your silver jewelry often.  The oils in your skin will clean the silver and keep it shiny.  Avoid contact with chemicals, perspiration, rubber or any substances that contains sulfur. When not in use, store silver in airtight plastic bags.  To remove tarnish, wash your silver jewelry with warm water and mild soap – rub it in one direction.

Special care for An oxidized finish

Oxidation disappears with time. This is considered normal wear and tear and is not a defect. Things which may cause the oxidation to fade include: perspiration, chlorine, perfumes, cleaning agents, and silver polish.  Oxidized (dark) jewelry does not benefit from being dipped in silver polishing liquid, as it destroys the oxidation.

Gold Filled

Gold filled – known as “rolled gold” or “rolled gold plate” – is a quality and an economical alternative to solid gold.  It is composed of solid layers of gold bonded with heat and pressure more than 10 times to a base metal such as brass or sterling silver.  It is more tarnish resistant than gold plating.  It does not flake off or rub off.

Caring for Gold Filled

Keep away from chemicals especially chlorine.  Do not wear it in a swimming pool or spa. Clean regularly with sudsy water and pat dry with a non-scratching cloth.  Make sure any cleaning products you use are safe for gold and non-film leaving soap (not anti-bacterial).  Rinse and dry with a soft polishing cloth immediately to avoid mineral residue from the water.

Vermeil [vərˈmeɪ]

Gold vermeil is a method of depositing a layers of gold onto the surface of sterling silver.  Most of our vermeil products are plated with 14K (58%)-18K (75%) gold.

Caring for Gold Vermeil

Remove all gold vermeil jewelry before showering, applying lotion, make-up, hairspray and perfume, or even better, always put your jewelry on last when getting dressed.  Do not wear your gold vermeil jewelry in swimming pools and hot tubs. Chlorine, especially at high temperatures, can permanently damage or discolor your gold vermeil jewelry.

You can clean gold vermeil by washing the jewelry in warm soapy water.  Make sure any cleaning products you use are safe for gold and non-film leaving soap (not anti-bacterial). Rinse and dry with a soft polishing cloth immediately to avoid mineral residue from the water.
